Internships
The Internship Program represents a positive step in developing partnerships with education and enterprises. The
IDM Internship Program, part of the WTAMU Internship and Cooperative
Education program, is designed to offer students learning opportunities
outside of the classroom through job experience related to the field of
computer information systems. Each semester, the IDM Department places student interns in a wide variety of businesses and agencies where they interact with professionals and participate in solving day-to-day problems. The internship opportunity provides students with increased understanding of principles learned in the classroom, the potential to develop a network of professional contacts, enhanced self-confidence and skills, and the ability to earn money for college and personal expenses.
The IDM Program fully supports academic credit for your Internship
experience. All internship opportunities for academic credit are under the
full academic supervision of the Department of Information and Decision Management. To participate in the internship program for academic credit, a student must be enrolled in the College of Business, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and be a second semester junior. If you wish to receive academic credit for your Internship, you need to check with your faculty advisor about this option before beginning work. You will also need to complete all appropriate paperwork as required by the University for enrollment. For more information about
IDM Internship for academic credit contact Dr. Amjad Abdullat at aabdullat@mail.wtamu.edu. For more detailed information about the University's Internship program please visit the Career Center webpage. WTCareer
